The natural ingredients we use are skin-friendly and contain valuable properties that differ from one oil, plant, or flower to another.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"828\">This means that Petit&amp;Jolie products contain no ingredients derived from petroleum or its by-products.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"830\" data-end=\"1043\">In addition, we do not use synthetic fragrances, colourants, or preservatives.The fragrances in Petit&amp;Jolie products come from a blend of essential oils, and we only use those free from allergens.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17536&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1398\">All Petit&amp;Jolie products are <strong data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1102\">certified by BDIH Cosmos<\/strong> (the <em data-start=\"1108\" data-end=\"1161\">Bundesverband der Industrie- und Handelsunternehmen<\/em> or <em data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1222\">International Organic and Natural Cosmetics Corporation<\/em>).<br data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1227\" \/>BDIH is an <strong data-start=\"1238\" data-end=\"1266\">independent organisation<\/strong> that audits our products, ingredients, packaging, and production processes according to their strict natural cosmetics standards.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1400\" data-end=\"1444\">A few examples of these standards include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1854\">\n<li data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1600\">\n<p data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1600\">Animal testing is <strong data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1504\">not permitted anywhere in the world<\/strong>, neither on finished products nor on individual ingredients used in Petit&amp;Jolie formulations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1739\">\n<p data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1739\">When palm oil is used, it must be <strong data-start=\"1637\" data-end=\"1655\">RSPO-certified<\/strong>, guaranteeing that no valuable tropical forests are destroyed for its production.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1740\" data-end=\"1854\">\n<p data-start=\"1742\" data-end=\"1854\">The use of ingredients derived from <strong data-start=\"1778\" data-end=\"1828\">genetically modified plants, flowers, or seeds<\/strong> is strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;15030&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"331\" data-end=\"370\">Ingredients in Petit&amp;Jolie products<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"575\"><strong data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"388\">Apricot Oil:<\/strong><br data-start=\"388\" data-end=\"391\" \/>Apricot oil is a mild oil suitable for dry and sensitive skin. It helps to improve the skin\u2019s elasticity. The apricot oil is produced in Spain and Italy and is used in the body lotion.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"760\"><strong data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"592\">Almond Oil:<\/strong><br data-start=\"592\" data-end=\"595\" \/>Almond oil is a rich oil that regulates moisture and helps to reduce skin irritation. The almond oil is produced in Spain and the USA and is used in the massage oil.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"925\"><strong data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"774\">Beeswax:<\/strong><br data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"777\" \/>Beeswax has moisturising properties and forms a waterproof barrier on the skin. The beeswax comes mainly from the EU and is used in the nappy cream.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"1061\"><strong data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"942\">Jojoba Oil:<\/strong><br data-start=\"942\" data-end=\"945\" \/>Jojoba oil is a rich oil with anti-inflammatory properties, ideal for sensitive skin. It is used in the massage oil.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1259\"><strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1076\">Glycerin:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1079\" \/>Glycerin is a humectant \u2014 it attracts and retains water, helping the skin to stay hydrated and preventing dryness. The glycerin used in our products is derived from vegetable oils.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1374\"><strong data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1285\">Honeysuckle Extract:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1288\" \/>Honeysuckle extract helps to cleanse the skin and also acts as a natural preservative.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1521\"><strong data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1392\">Coconut Oil:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1395\" \/>Coconut oil serves as the base for many ingredients needed for cleansing, stabilising, and emulsifying the skin care formulas.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1526\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1565\"><strong data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1565\">Is perfume bad for your skin?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1566\" data-end=\"1943\">\u201cPerfume\u201d is a collective name for fragrance ingredients. When a fragrance is added to a cosmetic product, it must be listed as <em data-start=\"1694\" data-end=\"1702\">parfum<\/em> on the ingredients list.<br data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1730\" \/>However, this does not indicate the origin of the fragrance \u2014 and that\u2019s where the difference lies.<br data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"1832\" \/>Good to know: the further down the list <em data-start=\"1872\" data-end=\"1880\">parfum<\/em> appears, the smaller the amount of fragrance in the product.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"2041\">Want to know more about perfume? An emulsifier enables water and oil to blend together.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2504\"><strong data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2408\">Rosemary Extract:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2408\" data-end=\"2411\" \/>Rosemary helps relax the muscles. The extract is produced in Greece and used in the bath oil.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2506\" data-end=\"2688\"><strong data-start=\"2506\" data-end=\"2523\">Sage Extract:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2523\" data-end=\"2526\" \/>Sage has antiseptic and astringent properties and helps with perspiration. It has a stimulating and cleansing effect on the (scalp) skin and soothes sore muscles.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2690\" data-end=\"2847\"><strong data-start=\"2690\" data-end=\"2732\">Schisandra Sphenanthera Fruit Extract:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2732\" data-end=\"2735\" \/>Schisandra berry has anti-inflammatory and calming properties. The extract is used in the anti-stretch mark oil.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2849\" data-end=\"3089\"><strong data-start=\"2849\" data-end=\"2864\">Sesame Oil:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2864\" data-end=\"2867\" \/>Sesame oil acts as a natural preservative, contains many beneficial nutrients, and protects the skin\u2019s lipids. It also has a lovely nutty scent. The oil mainly comes from India and Venezuela and is used in the nappy cream.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3223\"><strong data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3107\">Shea Butter:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3107\" data-end=\"3110\" \/>Shea butter hydrates the skin, improves blood circulation, and enhances elasticity. It is used in the rich cream.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3225\" data-end=\"3379\"><strong data-start=\"3225\" data-end=\"3253\">Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3253\" data-end=\"3256\" \/>A skin-friendly, natural cleanser made from coconut oil and an amino acid. It provides the cleansing effect in the shampoo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3381\" data-end=\"3495\"><strong data-start=\"3381\" data-end=\"3394\">Squalane:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3394\" data-end=\"3397\" \/>Squalane helps maintain the skin\u2019s moisture balance and elasticity. It is derived from plant oils.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3497\" data-end=\"3688\"><strong data-start=\"3497\" data-end=\"3517\">Vanilla Extract:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3517\" data-end=\"3520\" \/>The sugars in vanilla act as humectants \u2014 they form a light film on the skin to prevent moisture loss. The extract comes from Madagascar and is used in the massage oil.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3690\" data-end=\"3764\"><strong data-start=\"3690\" data-end=\"3717\">Vitamin E (Tocopherol):<\/strong><br data-start=\"3717\" data-end=\"3720\" \/>Vitamin E is used as a natural preservative.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3766\" data-end=\"3962\"><strong data-start=\"3766\" data-end=\"3789\">Lanolin (Wool Fat):<\/strong><br data-start=\"3789\" data-end=\"3792\" \/>Lanolin is an excellent moisturiser for dry skin. It binds water to the skin and keeps it there, forming a protective yet breathable layer. It is used in the nappy cream.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3964\" data-end=\"4031\"><strong data-start=\"3964\" data-end=\"3980\">Xanthan Gum:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3980\" data-end=\"3983\" \/>A natural stabiliser made from plant-based oils.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4033\" data-end=\"4157\"><strong data-start=\"4033\" data-end=\"4051\">Sunflower Oil:<\/strong><br data-start=\"4051\" data-end=\"4054\" \/>A rich sunflower oil is used, supporting both cleansing and care of the skin. The BDIH standard aims to define the term <em data-start=\"387\" data-end=\"408\">\u201cnatural cosmetics\u201d<\/em> in the interest of the consumer. This label ensures that the concept of \u201cnatural\u201d cosmetics is used correctly and provides transparency.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"1058\">The certification mark guarantees that the certified products are made only from raw materials that comply with the strict specifications of BDIH \/ IONC \u2014 the so-called <em data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"746\">\u201cNatural Cosmetic Standard.\u201d<\/em><br data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"749\" \/>For example, genetic modification of plants and animal testing are strictly prohibited.<br data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"839\" \/>Independent supervisory bodies regularly inspect natural cosmetic products based on their ingredients and formulations. Only products that meet these strict criteria are permitted to carry the <em data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1038\">BDIH<\/em> certification mark.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1060\" data-end=\"1436\">The standard defines requirements concerning the purchase, production, and processing of cosmetic raw materials.<br data-start=\"1172\" data-end=\"1175\" \/>Since its official launch in spring 2001, approximately 5,000 products have been inspected.
